Airlink and oculus app completely broken after last update (26.3.2024)

Honored Guest

the quest link update god downloaded yesterday the 26th of may and since then my Oculus app keeps having issues. my airlink is lagging behind like crazy and makes the whole thing unplayable. it only starts tho when i move my head. as long as i keep my head still i can move my hands and controlers without any delay or issues at all. furthermore the app, quite often, simply wont let me close it. i can use it and change settings and all but i cant close it. not with a restart in the beta settings and not with the X in the top right corner. i have to forcefully close it via taskmanager and after that, when i try to open it again it just caught in a loading loop. i already factory reset my quest 3 and reinstalled the oculus app. im really at a loss here. so pls someone help me 😞

Hi there, @Duremudira! Getting you back to comfortably PCVR gaming on your headset is key to us, so we wanted to pop in to assist further. In order for us to get a good idea of where your Air Link connection may be going wrong, please clarify the following details:

  • Does your PC meet all the current requirements to support Meta Quest Link, as listed here?
  • Are you able to try using a Link cable to see if this issue still happens then?
  • Is your headset functioning properly in Standalone mode, not connected to a PC?
  • Are you seeing any specific error messages?

Yes it does meet all requirements
I dont have a link cable
its completely without any issue in Standalone mode
no error messages.

ive got it so far with testing and fixing that the issue only occures now when im using SteamVR. When im connected without opening SteamVR its going good. and its only lagging when the lenses are on. i was testing it with my finger over the sensor to turn on the screens inside. i could hear the audio starting to lag once the lenses turned on and it stopped gain once they turned off but i could still hear the audio.

Thanks for letting us know, @Duremudira! To confirm, does this issue happen on the Meta Quest Link desktop app at all? Also, we did want to share the minimum PC requirements for using Steam VR as well. Please confirm that you meet the following requirements when you have the time:

  • OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 or later, Windows 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-4590/AMD FX 8350 equivalent or better
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, AMD Radeon R9 290 equivalent or better
  • Video Memory: 4 GB VRAM

i meat all requirements. ive been using it since november last year. it only started on the date mentioned

Sounds like you’re mainly only having this issue with SteamVR.  Check your SteamVR settings and set your global visuals manually (not auto) to 100% and see if this helps.  You may also want to try using Steam Link for your Steam games.

I’m not having any issues with my Q3 after recent updates.  Besides meta v63 update I’ve also received SteamVR and Win11 updates as well, and these may also effect things imho.

I think you need to do a bit more google research/troubleshooting on all this.  Otherwise I suggest you contact meta support, including your log file and see if they can help.  Review the Get Help section of this forum for instructions on how to contact them for assistance.  Good luck mate and cheers.
