Android File Transfer is now broken on MacOS Ventura

I use Android File Transfer on MacOS to transfer my animation to the Oculus 2 . Now it seems to be broken. What other ways are there to transfer movie files to the headset on MacOS? Work has been stopped.

Yes,  Android File Transfer was working fine for years. Now it does not. Do you have MacOS Ventura installed? I assume this is the problem as it was the thing that changed right before it stopped working.

Yes, Ventura 13.0.1.   I loaded SideQuest, registered as developer, turned on dev mode on headset, still not working.

This has to be a common problem, would like it acknowledged and at least a mention that a fix is in the works.

Looks like the last time Android File Transfer was updates was 2018. So, I feel like this is pretty much it for that app. If Meta is counting on this app to be an easy way to transfer files to the Quest, then I'm outta luck. The Remote Desktop does not work on my system either. Way too complicated for a simple file transfer.

Have you looked at MacDroid?  It may work, but a paid subsription.

I'd rather use what I have been using.

I'm actually setting up one of my PCs to do this transfer function. I don't think Google is going to put in an effort to help those on the Mac platform anytime soon.

Please post results.

thx.

I had the same problem connecting my Android phone to my Macbook Pro.

First, quit the "Google Drive" app & then connect again.

This method worked for me.

I've also seen some other people suggesting quitting the "Preview" app.

I hope this helps! 💥

I cant seem to connect my Mac to my Oculus with the Android file system either. I cant add music to my oculus or custom maps, is there another way. The MetaQuest remote app does not seem to work either and it all seemed to have started since the Ventura update ; (

Hello. As others have stated, my Oculus 2 no longer connects to my iMac or MacBook (My MacBook has not been connected to wifi in months and has not been updated, so I think that rules out the issue being on Apple's end). Can you give us an update? I'd rather not spend $75 on a cheap used Windows Laptop to transfer video files if a patch is right around the corner. Thank you.

Hey andrewscottriggs93, sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with Android File Transfer with your MacOs. DO you have developer mode enabled? This has been known to conflict with Android File Transfer and Mac Os.
