Android File Transfer is now broken on MacOS Ventura

MagicMorelock

I use Android File Transfer on MacOS to transfer my animation to the Oculus 2 . Now it seems to be broken. What other ways are there to transfer movie files to the headset on MacOS? Work has been stopped.

So we should have developer mode disabled now? Last "fix" was to enable it and use "SideQuest" to be able to transfer files, which didn't fix for me. This seems to be a very common problem with Mac users, can we not come up with a solution? It does seem to be a Andriod File Transfer problem which hasn't had an update in a very long time

Hey Kitesur4, if you take a close look at both of our replies you will see that we've always warned that Developer mode may conflict with Android File Transfer. Turn it off and let us know if it improves Android File Transfer functionality.

Makes no difference if developer mode is on or off - "No Android device found" remains stuck

I was just having this issue (troubleshooting on/off for days). realized it started happening after updating to Ventura. I finally found a reddit article that suggested opening Activity Monitor and Force quitting Preview (or Google drive or anything else using USB). When I quit Preview, started working right away. Good luck!

Thanks for getting back. No, I never turned that on and it does not show in my search in the settings.

THANK YOU! I thought I was never going to resolve this. Activity Monitor and Force Quitting Preview final let the transfer allow. Counting down the days till Apple releases their VR set up...

Just an FYI I was also having the same issues of Android FT not working on both my MACs one w Ventura and one  w/o. It was not the cable or port. I saw a suggestion to get the Developer in settings which I did and sure enough there was a tab for turning the USB connection on and off.  I did it and now it is working again. Not sure why I had to go through the steps of Developer to get a tab to turn on and off. Seems that this should be available to everyone and would save a lot time and headaches.

Slurpee7, your method of using Activity Monitor to Force Quit Google Drive & Preview worked for me! The AndroidFileTransfer app immediately opened up the files directory on my Quest 2.  Thank you for the tip!
