Android File Transfer is now broken on MacOS Ventura

I use Android File Transfer on MacOS to transfer my animation to the Oculus 2 . Now it seems to be broken. What other ways are there to transfer movie files to the headset on MacOS? Work has been stopped.

Spent a few hours to solve the issue. One of the apps that is running on mac, conflicts with "Android File Transfer".

Some say it is Google Drive app, some say it is Preview.  In my case, it was different app. Use task manager to close all apps and try to run AFT again.  Or by closing apps step by step, you will find out which one causes the crash of AFT.

I went thru the process of turning off Preview, then tuned it back on, not sure if that worked. I aslo ejected everything using USB, back up drives, everything. re-started computer and seems to work now.

This is a persistent issue for me also! I believe the main problem is AFT vs Ventura vs Oculus.  It was working perfectly UNTIL I installed macOS Ventura.

What is very frustrating and makes it very hard to figure the exact reason, is that one day it will work perfectly, with Google Drive running and Preview being used with absolutely no issue.  2 hours later, want to copy something else, it refuses to work.  No preview instance to kill in Activity Monitor, but did kill Google Drive and it then worked again.  But obviously, sometimes it works ok even with google drive and preview running, other times it does not.  Sometimes simply unplugging and replugging in the cable 3 times in a row (leaving the AFT error dialog on screen) has worked.  I would then have to close AFT to get rid of the error dialogs (since the folder window can't be used with the error modal dialog) and then re-open AFT and it would work

Whilst these temp workarounds are ok, I really hope a (new) solution comes soon for those of us with macOS Ventura.  OpenMTP uses similar stuff and presumably some shared APIs perhaps (not entirely sure) but OpenMTP didn't work for me, I had the same problem.

For what it's worth, other android devices I have such a Teclast 10" Tablet ALWAYS works fine, first try, regardless of what's running in the background, so I'd say it seems to be the combo of AFT + Ventura + Oculus, toggling dev mode didn't make any difference in my attempts

Maybe NOT Ventura… I’ve been using an MBP 15 w/ 10.14 and the latest MQ2 (forced) update did it to me. I even have automatic updates turned off, and tend to use my headset w/WiFi *off* to avoid these kinds of annoying f’ups.  But sure enough, headset is worthless now as I mostly just use it for movies.

Apple’s App Store returns seven different “Remote Desktop” apps on a search, none refer to Meta or Quest… (?)

I believe this was an oversight and what was meant to be typed was "Virtual Desktop", not Remote.
