Angle/screen jumps to the back

Michael_Whanell
Honored Guest

Hallo,

I have a strange problem for a couple of days now.

While using the headset the view jumps to the back. This happens in home and while using apps. This is during a game specially frustrating.

Using the 'Oculus'-button recenters the view but only for a few moments before the view jumps 180 degrees again.

I'm wondering, is this a software problem and it is only a question of propperly readjusting? Or is it a matter of damaged hardware?

Thanks in advance

Michael Whanell

Hey @Michael_Whanell, we want to make sure that using our device is an enjoyable and comfortable experience for you. We can't wait to get you back up and running. We have a few wise suggestions to get the quest to work correctly.

Let us start with clearing out your guardian cache:

  1. Press on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.

  2. Hover over the clock on the left side of the universal menu. When Quick Settings appears, select it to open the Quick Settings panel.

  3. Select Settings in the top right corner.

  4. Select Guardian from the left menu.

  5. Select Clear Guardian History.

Another possibility is that the textures or objects in your play area don't contrast well enough, misleading the tracking cameras.

Here are some steps you can do if you discover that your device is still not picking up the correct location or resetting while you play:

  • Stand as close as possible to the center of the intended play area when drawing your Guardian boundary.
  • Look around the room when drawing your boundary. Only looking in one direction while drawing your boundary reduces the likelihood of remembering your Guardian in the future.
  • Always make sure the area within the Guardian system boundary is clear of hazards and obstacles.

Please get in touch with us if you're still having issues after attempting these steps so we can offer more assistance.
