Annoying AirLink ambience music

Squidtastic
Honored Guest

I notice there's annoying constant ambient music playing only in AirLink connected to my PC NOT in Quest Home just AirLink. I saw some previous forums saying to edit the audio files in oculus and I found the direct audio files that are making the constant sounds, they are: "GNux_Background_Loop_v2_ambix_1.wav" & "mus_void_ambisonic.wav" I have done everything that people have said to do like editing those files in an audio editing software. I attempted to do this with Audacity but when I edit those audio files and try to save it, it doesn't let me it all, also deleting it doesn't do anything. This constant chime sound is driving me crazy and frustating that I cannot do anything about it no matter what I tried.

Hey there @Squidtastic! We want you to be able to enjoy your VR experiences on your own terms, so we definitely want to lend a hand in getting this background music turned off for you. This seemed to have worked for a few people with similar issues:

  •   If you are on windows 11, Go to the search box and type in "sound mixer" that will bring up a window with all the different audio sources available.
  •  Identify the "Link dashboard" from here, you should be able to mute the background noise

Please update us on if these steps worked for you, or if there's still more digging we have to do to find a way to resolve this. We hope to hear from you soon!

And if we’re on windows 10?…

Seems like this has been a known issue for years. It can’t be that hard to fix.

Hi @Slobbodore.Cummers. We understand you are having similar issues as your fellow peer. Not to worry; we are happy to assist you. To start, could you please let us know what troubleshooting you have tried, if any, yet? Also, when did this begin, and have you had this issue before?
