Anyone Find a Working Fix for Quest Link/Air Link Issues?

Hi everyone.

A few weeks ago I made a post about quest link rarely ever connecting to my PC over a wireless connection or using the link cable and I was able to fix for a week and now it is doing the same thing. I have already contacted support and they did not help and I have tried the responses from the last post again and it did not work this time. I have read about every post complaining about this issue and all of the replies are just "it works for me" or "reboot your pc". Is there actually a fix for this or is this a bad software optimization issues on Meta's side and if so what are my alternatives. I have already tried steam link (runs like garbage) and virtual desktop (Does not work and refunded). I hope people see this and can also get help since I know many people have had this issue since its release 3 years ago.

Honestly, if you found a 'fix' a week or two ago (I think you ran a meta link pc app Repair) then it should still work.  If not, then something else has changed on your PC.  It could be a windows update, new drivers, different settings, or who knows what.

I suggest you do a system restore back to a restore point in time that it was working ok and see if this helps.  Hopefully, like me you create the occasional restore point when your system is stable.  I usually make a habit of doing this once a week.  Otherwise, contact meta support and include your log files.  Sorry but there is not much else I can suggest since, like you, I'm just a user on this meta user forum.  Good luck mate and cheers.

Thanks for the reply, I haven't tried loading a restore point so I can try that.

So one of the Meta support people emailed and told me to perform a full uninstall of the meta link software in safe mode after sending them logs (I used revo uninstaller and deleted any leftover files in any of the app data locations) and it seems to be working better than before. Again this is a reoccurring issue so I am not going to mark this as a solution yet until i know for sure this 100% fixed my issue.

Hey, @MasonatorGator55!

Glad to hear you found some success! I find a manual uninstall is usually the best way to fix any issues with the Link app but hopefully you won't have to do another now!

If I don't take my foot off the gas, I might miss it all.

Never mind, I just tried to use PC link today and it is doing the same thing and I have tested air link and the cable. any other suggestions?

Hey again @MasonatorGator55 ,

Since a repair of the Quest Link software was able to help before, could you please try doing this again?

I did a full uninstall again and this time I whitelisted the entire oculus folder and the OculusClient.exe file that runs in the background in windows security. I believe I have already done this but I am also going to run some commands in CMD to check and repair corrupted files to see if this does anything. I will report back in a few days to see how things are working.

Alright, so I may have found a better fix than uninstalling the software everytime it refuses to work. If you are using the link cable, unplug it when it gets stuck or crashes and plug it back in and press the "allow access" pop up. This seems to eventually get it working after a few attempts.
