My room in passthrough mode is distinctly more amber now. White colors in menus are still white and games don't look any different, but my room has a distinct amber cast. Did something change in the software or maybe something is going wrong in the headset?

It's part of the v64 changes.
Color rendition is (globally) closer to reality with the new firmware. I noticed it as soon as the Meta 3 rebooted after the update. I am really pleased with this. My environment is much closer to reality, even in low light - or especially should I say.

Hi @Occupunk, updates are released continuously to improve the user experience. To optimize passthrough settings for the best performance, reference the article below:
We suspect that there's been a change in lighting where you play. If otherwise or experiencing persistent trouble after adjusting, please advise!

Thanks. It may be a bit more realistic, but I actually preferred the brighter passthrough. Not a big deal.

Thanks. Hopefully they will tweak it again. I think it may be because my room is too bright. If I cover the lenses with my fingers, leaving just a tiny gap, the image gets much brighter and clearer. When I take my hands away from the headset, the image becomes dull and muddled, much more so than it looks in real life.
I don't do any AR type gaming anyway, but this would absolutely ruin the experience for me. Unles the game was called "cateract simulator".
