App pairing not working.

I recently had to factory reset my headset because of some technical issues. I've had the headset for around a year and the only issue I've had was app sharing not working. It happened first back in July, which i fixed by removing and re-adding my account. It happened again a couple weeks ago, but i couldn't fix it because for some reason i couldn't add or remove any accounts since an error message would just pop up, as well as the store not working. The setup was going smoothly until I got to the part where I have to pair my headset to Meta Quest app. It finds the headset and asks for the code just fine, but when I actually put the code in it just pops up a message that says "Unable to connect to the headset" and provides a bunch of useless troubleshooting steps that don't work. I'm putting in the right code, have my Bluetooth on and working, and have my phone and headset on the same WiFi network. I didn't have any problems setting it up when I first got it. I've tried uninstalling the mobile app, turning Bluetooth off and on, and have even factory resetted the headset again, but nothing works. Why the the headset even need to be connected to the stupid app anyway?

Hey @BrunoTheUno! Being able to properly share your game library with a friend, family member, or partner is awesome feeling knowing you won't have to come out of pocket twice the amount of the app for everyone to be able to enjoy it on your headset, so we'd love to help you share that experience! To help get you there, we'll be happy to help out with your mobile app pairing problem. We just need a bit more info, so we can help out a bit better.

  • What version is your Meta Quest mobile app?
  • Which version of Android or iOS is your phone running on?

For headset pairing, we recommend trying to clear your Bluetooth cache before trying again:

On an Android device

  1. Open Settings and go to Apps.
  2. Go to Bluetooth
  3. Tap on Storage and Clear Cache.

On an iOS device

  1. Open Settings and select Bluetooth.
  2. Forget every Bluetooth device in the My Devices list using the "i" icon.
  3. Restart your iOS device to clear the cache. After restarting, you will be required to re-pair with Bluetooth devices again.

Let us know if that worked out for you, along with that other info, and we'll see what we can do to help!
