App referral shows “recommended” instead of the 25% off

Whenever my friend sends me an app referral link, it shows up as “recommended” instead of being able to claim the discount. I can see the claim discount when I click my own link, but when I click my friends’ link, it shows up as “recommended”. I also gave some of my friends my own app referral link, and they have successfully redeemed it. I just got my Quest 3 2 days ago if that matters.

That is a great question. There is not a set time frame. We recommend checking back as often as you would like, as we do not have a schedule that we can provide more insight into.

Hey there, @janicalim! We know how helpful the app referral program can be for helping friends play new games together, so we wanted to investigate this matter! 

 

There are various requirements that must be met in order to accept an app referral. We want to make sure that all of the requirements are met first. For example, there are limits to how many people can accept a referral link, so if other people already used the link, it would not work. Please double check everything this article.

Yes, the link I clicked was one that didn’t get maxed out yet. I tried using some of my friends other links that we know are maxed out to make sure I wasn’t the one mistaken. And sure enough, it says “referral limit reached”. The app isn’t on any other discount as well.

We thank you for providing that information. In order to keep our offers fresh, we periodically run offers for randomly selected customers. It appears as though the offer you are referring to is not available for you at this time.

Does that mean I have to keep trying everyday to see if its available for me at that time? Or is there going to be a notification? Is there a qualification or prerequisite needed or something?

While we understand your concerns, processes change within our company all the time. Any offers that are available to you can be seen within your Meta Quest account. There are no qualifications or prerequisites, it is what is available for you at that time.

So I just need to watch out for it in the “Promotions”? If the promotion ever becomes available to me, is there a time window I can use it? Like a month? Or is it indefinite?
