Asgards Wrath Entitlement Error

Anonymous

Hi Guys,
I have a Rift CV1.  I bought Asgards Wrath last night and started the 77GB install.  A little while later Windows 10 tells me I gotta reboot (Thanks Windows 10!).  And I figured it'd be fine like when I need to reboot my xbox in the middle of a download.  Nope.  When it came back up the download was not restarting and the icon in my library was gone.  I figured I needed to restart the download, so I did (The option to install was there in the store).  But my SSD was out of space.  So I went to find where Asgards wrath was installed partially so I could delete it.  Well I found some stuff in staging so I nuked it and restated the install. It looked like I figured it out so I just waited AGAIN for 77GB to download. In the morning the download had failed with an error saying I need to contact support.  I tried to run from staging, which started up, and it said I have an entitlement error.  So I am sort of stuck.  I'm trying for the 3'rd time to install it after deleting some other sanzu stuff but I don't know if this will work or not.

Any idea what I need to do to recover?

Also - Someone at Oculus may want to investigate why the download never resumed.  Windows has a bad habit of rebooting on folks and a 77GB download is a big window of time for it to happen in, like me.

Thanks for any help.

You'll need to open a support ticket to get this looked at by Oculus.

I have this exact problem, but I haven't even been able to download the game at all. It just completely fills up my SSD and then says I need to talk to Oculus Support.

It's normal that the Oculus download management system halts a download if no data is downloaded for some time, maybe 30 seconds or 1 minut - something like that. Then you get the error that something went wrong and you should contact support. Of course you don't need to do that. Just start the download again and it should pick up where it left (or close).

Now, Oculus downloads should never be cut off with a reboot, this may cause more severe errors. But games are downloaded to the Download or the Staging folder on you default location set in the Oculus app. You should be able to completely delete the downloaded game content in these folders and restart the download. Been at this for years, always succeeded in solving download problem with no help from Support - maybe I'm just lucky...

I was told to clear out TWICE as much space on my SSD as needed. I found you can add a new location in the settings tabs:
https://support.oculus.com/177556682988320/?locale=en_US&ref=oculus-pc-app

I made a new location on my regular hard drive and moved a bunch of games. Took about 30 min or so.  My download is still going so I don't know if this will work or not but I'll let you know.

Thanks @RuneSR2 I did delete the stageing stuff to free up space but I think I missed removing something so I'm doing that too. So if this works I don't know which solution is right

All set now. Either or both of the things I did fixed it. 🙂
