So this is a long and tricky one. I've spent a lot of money trying to hunt it down and I'm very confused now.
I've been using quest link to my quest pro for a good year + and my quest 2 before that. There were never any issues until around February this year (maybe slightly earlier) but whenever the quest link homepage loads I start getting an audio glitch/crackle/static and then during gaming it only gets worse. Even more so when recording. However, all of the recordings have perfect audio.
To note, the glitches happen no matter the output device - be that built in laptop speakers, the quests built im speaker or 2.4ghz headphones from the PC
At first I assumed it was the headphones, so I replaced them with a different set. Issue remained. I've now built a brand new PC and it still happens! So I then when with a different brand of headphones. Issue was so much less on the new PC + new headphones until last night.
I connected the link cable and it became impossible to hear anything (audio from PC was working perfectly fine before connecting the link cable), just a constant barrage of glitchy sounds. I switched to air link and that too was unusable - so I switched to steam link and whilst it was not as bad, there were still multiple times that it glitches out for a good 1 or 2 minute stretches - but oculus software was still up in the background
Given I've changed headphones 3x, and a new PC (4070, ryzen 7 7800x3d &32gb ram) I'm at a loss what could be causing the issue. I'm beginning to think it may be oculus link software related as it only happens as soon as link is connected.
I am going to try and see if I can run steam link without amy oculus software popping up, but has anyone got any ideas?

Hi @CamStreet
Audio is so important to enjoying your Meta Quest Pro so lets get this sorted!
Can we confirm a few troubleshooting steps please:
Have you run Windows Audio Troubleshooter?
Have you checked all devices are on the same bandwidth?
When checking your devices, did you have them connected or separated? Were there any 3rd party accessories attached?
If any of these work, please do let us know!

Hi Meta,
It happens through the quest pro speakers also, and that's also when connected over wire, so 2.4ghz doesn't have anything to do with it. I have run the windows sound fixer and there were no errors reported- the sound is perfect on all 3 devices (quest pro, built in laptop/monitor speakers and wireless headphones) prior to loading oculus link software, and after closing it
I have uninstalled all sound drivers, and oculus software and reinstalled etc to no avail
