I know a lot of people who like to turn the music off in game, or even add their own music to their games. Up until the Feb 5th update with the newest browser I was able to do this but now for some reason am unable to. I've read a lot of comments on YouTube videos stating the same thing, that up until recently they could all listen to music and it suddenly stopped. I noticed something in the patch notes mentioning music playing is, "Tabs in immersive: Your browser tabs will now be available across immersive applications." so maybe that has something to do with it? I have no discernable idea, and I'm quite frankly slightly miffed at this inconvenience. Obviously it's not world ending, but it sucks not being able to play my favorite games and listen to my own music.

Hi, i'm having the same problem and its pushing me away from using my quest 3 for media consumption.
i never had the option "background audio playback" on experimental features.
I was on PTC currenctly on v66, i just removed the ptc from the quest and factory restored and still cant find the option.
I'm trying to use the "Fluid" app and "the spatial app", cant play 2 youtube videos at same time, or a youtube video and a instagrams rells, or whatch a steam video from discod or twitch and play a youtube video.

Hey @waldirbv, thank you for letting us know! With any bugs or missing features, please be sure you Report a problem on Meta Quest. We know how important it is to listen to your own media while playing games of all types, and we would be happy to provide any assistance we can.
Do keep in mind that the feature is brand new and subject to changes and improvements, and not all sources of music are supported or may work as intended. Background audio is only supported from the universal menu when you click the menu button on your right controller. You can open your favorite streaming service in the Meta Quest Browser and it should be able to keep audio playing when tapping the right controller menu button again to close the menu. Full apps such as Fluid or The Spatial App would not be supported for playing audio in the background from those apps while using another application. However, background audio should work while using those apps unless the developers specifically do not support it.
Please check if you are having issues with background audio on multiple apps, and from multiple sources of audio. For a controlled testing environment, we recommend testing the home screen before launching apps.
Powering off your headset and leaving it off for 5-10 minutes can help ensure a proper restart, and help ensure the update has applied properly onto the headset. Please let us know if you are still having issues and we will review what we can to help you out.

Hey there, @waldirbv! Since you're missing this feature after originally updating to v66 and are still missing it in the PTC v67, I would be more than happy to reach out to the engineering teams so this can be looked into. I will need some information that I can relay to them as well.
Please share this info whenever you can!

Hey guys! I saw that this forum was still open and I just got done contacting the Quest 3 Text support line on the official website and they said they would be sending it to higher ups and emailing me later, it's only been less than an hour but I was doing more research into the problem and saw this post. I am also having the same issues.
Version 67.0.0.504.356.616599631 and runtime version 67.0.0.506.358.616599355 and OS version SQ3A.220605.009.A!

Thanks for sharing that info, @Multinightsnipe! I'll pass it on to the engineering teams so they can start looking into this issue. I'll let you know what they've said as soon as I hear back from them!

Hey guys! I heard back from our engineers, and they want to see if you're experiencing the issue when you're playing background noise through an app instead of the browser. Like if you were to have Spotify open and playing in the background while you're playing a game at the same time. Let me know, and I can pass the info on to them!

Hi and sorry, i was away from home.
So, i'm on ptc since v63, when v66 ptc released i saw the reviews and the possibilities on the background audio experimental feature, this features was the solution for the way i wanted to use the quest 3.
But i didnt get the experimental feature, so every day i was reseting the experimental features so check if i can get it, 2 weeks later with no sucess i decides to remove the ptc and did a factory reset to see if it will fix, but no sucess, then the v67 ptc came out and i joined again the ptc program, i got the layout experimental, but still dont get the background sound.
