i've got a pc based on AMD hardware, ryzen 2700 for the CPU and a rx6700 as a graphics card. I've got a quest 2 and i experience very bad video compression. I tried through occulus link, wired and wireless, i tried Radeon Relive VR. The problem stay the same, the numbers are good, 150 mbit/s, but the video quality is very very poor, compression is everywhere. It looks like a very old video from the first internet ages 😉
Is there some peculiar settings or drivers for AMD hardware ?
Hey hey, @Arnaud.brian! We just wanted to pop on by and thank you for bringing your problem to our attention. Also, we appreciate all the information you were able to provide for us about your specs! What we can try is handling the resolution through the debug tool. You can make changes in Oculus PC app by doing the following:
Device setting -> Select device -> Graphic setting. ( Recommended resolution depend on refresh rate & PC spec. The max resolution is always 5408x2736.)
If you want more resolution, you can use Pixels Per Display Pixel Override in Debug Tool. This is multiplier setting. The default setting is 0, which is x1 resolution of PC app. If you set 1.2, the resolution will be x1.2 of PC app (x1.2 height/width = x1.44 pixels of PC app). You don't need to use this unless you want to go beyond 5408x2736. You can also use the debug tool to manage rendering. There are 3 options, default, low & high. But default & high are the same. Low gives sharper image. To apply the change, input value -> press enter -> click Service -> select Restart Oculus Service.
