What's the approximate battery life if I'm streaming an 1080p video from my Plex (on my local NAS) from being fully charged?
Everything is at default, no changes to refresh rate.. everything as it's configured out of the box. Audio at mid...
What should I be expecting?
Reason I'm asking is that I get around 1 hour before my battery hits 5-7% from a full charge. Just streaming a movie.
Any info would be greatly appreciated... 😁

Hello @adam1972! That's a great question! To give you a more accurate answer could you please tell us what device you're using? We look forward to your reply!

Hey! Expected battery life is up to 2 hours from a full charge. We would suggest you get one of our elite straps with a battery to extend the battery life of your device.

Not too sound too cynical lol.... Let me get you straight..
But a quest 3 for 499..
Battery doesn't last what it's supposed to.
Go out and buy a Quest 3 elite strap with battery for another $130.00 to fix it?

As with most battery powered devices, battery life is dependent on various factors such as device settings, usage, age of battery, Bluetooth usage, and wireless conditions. These are just things that we can recommend for you to extend battery life.

I completely understand. That's why I was inquiring about the base expectation. I use mine very lightly and it's only a couple months old. I've only had to charge it up maybe 10 times since I got it. Light use and brightness at center. Everything else is set to factory default.

I can understand if I used it past expectation of battery capacity... Then yes, a pack would extend me enough to allow me to enjoy the unit longer than the standard battery would.

Hey again, @adam1972. We hear you and would love to provide some further clarification on the subject. As mentioned, the expected battery life is about 2 hours for a new device from a full charge. Some games or apps will drain the battery faster. Streaming, such as movies or YouTube videos, and online content like multiplayer games, use more battery than loading media from the device's memory. If you are using mixed reality (passthrough) while you watch, you can expect an even further reduction in how long the battery will last.
For best results, disable passthrough and download content you wish to consume for later. We know streaming is much more convenient than managing storage space, so you might consider using a longer charging cable to plug into the headset while sitting to watch a movie via streaming. Or the aforementioned Elite Strap. If your headset is noticeably not lasting long under normal usage conditions, please feel free to let us know! We are also here if you have any further questions.
