My husband and I have separate accounts and one Oculus Quest 2. I was able to play Beat Saber we purchased on his account using mine. I just bought a music pack add-on with his account. I went into mine and it's asking me to buy it again. I don't understand why I can play the game but not the add-on. It's a family Oculus and if I want to have my own account to track my own progress outside my husband I should be able to. It's not like we can play the same game together since it's the same Oculus.

So many silly inconveniences with Quest! The fact that you can't share headsets, share music between family accounts or have shared settings within a family is causing me so much hassle. Also, my daughter (who is away at college) owns the headset we have at home, so that means a lot of options (e.g. beta updates of various games) are closed off to me and my wife unless we call her and ask for her passwords. It's freaking ridiculous!

Will not be purchasing any additional content either. We were discussing all of the packs we wanted to get, but no freaking way we’re doing that for every family member. Disappointing as I’m the one who uses it and the main account is my spouse’s. We were talking about getting additional headsets, but this has killed the desire. Getting really tired of everyone trying to milk this cow. I’m dried up.

Perhaps not from the standpoint of Meta, but it’s a major bug from the player standpoint. If you want families to play, the model on other platforms is to let users share content with their families. This is what consumers expect in this age. I can’t think of a platform who doesn’t do it this way. Families playing together generates future loyalty. No families, no future loyalty.
But I also have to say—the game itself is incredible, and the dev team has done such a fabulous job! I’ll keep an eye to see if things change. If they do, I look forward to playing the extra content. Until that time, I’ll wait.

@ThyRuinedKing sorry but this is a bug. If not technical bug, then your freakin design or intention is a bug. This is outragous. This VR has no chance to be one and only because your OS jsut sucks. Why I can't have guest, why I have to use ONE account with my GF if we are different height?! This is a bug and stop saying it's not.
Honestly, if anyone will ask me feedback about this VR set.. that's the first thing I'm gonna say to them. This is ANTY family headset, so if you want to watch porn, go ahead. But if you want to have fun with your friends at your house.. choose something else

I don’t think I’ve ever seen them say it’s a bug. I don’t think I’ve ever seen them acknowledge it at all. I’d say it’s intentionally programmed that way, plain and simple.

The decision if DLCs are made shareable, is made by the game developer, not by Meta.
Just a little info😉

Then it's bad system design. I think you are missing my point.
When I buy TV and movie I can watch that movie with my girlfriend and friends at my house. When I buy bicycle, I can give that bicycle to my girlfriend to ride on just change the seat height. I can share my chair, I can give my PC and access to steam account and she can play. EVERYTHING you can share. But then we have Meta.. ofc I can share - just give her, but now it's a freakin bother because we have different heights, different preferences FFS why I can't have profiles that has shared everything!?
All apps and system allows that if you are using one hardware, one system anything. BUT FREAKIN META. Oculus is not a VR for families and friends. This is solo experience with other ppl that can afford also to have Oculus BUT your housemates. Unless ofc you can buy second Oculus ..but that's not the point
This is BS and you know it, I know it, everybody knows it. And either Meta PMs are too dump to see this or just to lazy to do that. This is freakin game changer and adds more audiance. At some point, ppl that share VR might buy their own. But they will be discouraged by the experience

I see your point....but a headset is not comparable with a TV, it's a personal thing with adjustments for you.
Bigscreen Beyond for example is custom build to the shape of your face after scanning your face....probably not very good useable by anyone than you.
You can have a second account on your headset for your girlfriend and you can share your games with her.
I absolutely agree, that it's a big problem that most DLCs are not shareable and just wanted to point out that this is a decision, the game devs are making.

Oh I get your point but I think what you’re missing is that this is an intentional programming design. It’s not a mistake. It’s not an overlooked thing. It’s an intentionally programmed limitation so that you have to buy multiple licenses, one for each. It’s absolutely BS as other similar apps (Supernatural comes to mind) allow several users on the same account before another license is required. It’s a money grab, nothing more, and I’m sure it’s been successful.
