Beat Saber not working on Quest 3

Description of the Issue:

  • I recently purchased a Quest 3 VR headset and was able to play Beat Saber without issues after the initial setup. It worked fine for one day, but I started experiencing an issue the next day. The game opens, but the play button won’t load on any song. Additionally, the icon that should be between the solo and online modes in the main menu doesn’t load.

Steps I’ve Already Taken to Troubleshoot (to no avail):

  • From a Quest 3 headset perspective, I’ve:
    • Checked for software updates for both the headset and Beat Saber.
    • Restarted the Quest 3 multiple times.
    • Verified there is enough storage space on the device.
    • Reinstalled Beat Saber multiple times.
    • Tested other games, which work fine, except for VRChat (gets stuck on joining).
    • Checked controller connections to ensure they’re properly synced.
    • Factory reset the headset (this temporarily fixed the issue for a day, but the same problem reappeared after a few hours).
  • From an ISP/Network perspective, I’ve:
    • Tried port forwarding.
    • Assigned a static IP to the Quest 3 and placed it in DMZ.
    • Enabled UPnP.
    • Connected to my phone’s hotspot network instead of my home WiFi.
    • Restarted my WiFi several times.

Additional Information:

  • The problem occurs consistently every time I try to play Beat Saber.
  • The game is NOT modded, and the issue exists in all songs, including the default ones.
  • I can usually join online lobbies, but I can’t select a song, and when the game "starts," I’m left in the lobby. Occasionally, I can’t even join.
  • Other apps work fine, such as the internet browser, YouTube, Twitch, and Population One.

  • Quest 3 Firmware Version: 72.0.0.530.347.670816297
  • Beat Saber Version: 1.40.0_2229 (code: 1466)

Request for Help:

  • Has anyone experienced similar issues with Beat Saber on the Quest 3? Any advice on how to fix this or other troubleshooting steps I should try would be greatly appreciated.

Same problem. Haven't played for many months, started Quest 3 for the first time since then.

Hi @Renesaurio 🙂

I just checked beat saber on my Quest 3....it's working without issues, so I don't think it's a game bug.

Beat saber version is 1.40, but....

....I'm still on Quest version v71 and wonder if v72 is related to that problem🤔

Would be great to know, because the update was applied automatically through the Quest 3 updates.

Yeah, maybe @shoyapkyuyapkyu  come back to this thread to tell us his Quest version.

I called my ISP today who insisted everything looked right on their end. They asked me to provide the specific ports used by Beat Saber so that they could open them for me and look into it. Does anyone knows which ports are used by Beat Saber? I emailed them but not sure how long they'll take to respond (if ever).

@Renesaurio I didn't get a response from beat saber when I mailed them with an issue some years ago. They've pushed out an update which fixed the problem, though.

But in that case more user were affected, you seems the only one - except of @shoyapkyuyapkyu  -  with this problem.

What happens, if you install an older beat saber version .... just to rule out 1.40 causes the issue somehow.

I cannot get Beat Saber to open on my quest 3 since the update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled already. Any other suggestions?

I wanted to try the free trial to see if it was worth purchasing and can't even download it. After I click agree and download it gives a Query Error. If they can't even get a trial correct I don't have faith in the full game.

I think your problem is most likely not with the game but rather with server/software issues.
