Black Screen in Gorilla Tag after Terms of Service

I have had the same issue for over a month.  I’ve shut down, restarted, deleted, reinstalled etc, all to no avail.  I contacted the App developer and never got a response. When you launch the game you have to accept the terms of service.  After you do that the screen goes black. The game is still running but you can see anything.  There is sound and you can hear yourself moving around.  Always requires acceptance of service terms and then black screen. Please help….  My gorilla tag tickets from Another Axiom are 11653 and 13668.

Here is what I got from the app developer:

We believe the fix to your issue will either be incorrect time on headset, clearing your app data, or factory resetting the headset.

First check your time setting are set to Auto and that the headset has the correct time.

If that does not work please do the following.

next step: Clearing the Appdata.

Just choose Gorilla Tag when following that.

If this did not work you can Factory Reset the headset like this.

Hey everyone! I wanted to jump in and let you know I'll be locking this thread since it seems pretty old now. If you're still running into the black screen issue on Gorilla Tag after the steps posted in the marked solution, it might be best to contact the developers directly. The steps listed in the marked solution are instructions from the developer, but it's possible they may have additional steps to recommend for fixing the app specific issue. If you're having trouble reaching them through their site, I also suggest the Gorilla Tag Discord

Hope this helps!

Having the same issue. Any help would be appreciated. We’ve tried restarting to no avail.

Also having the same issue - just started happening today on Gorilla Tag - other games seem fine at the stage

My son updated Gorilla Tag today on his Quest 2 and is getting the same problem. I tried to join the Gorilla Tag Discord for advice but couldn't get it to verify and now it says I've tried too many times.

Can't seem to find an answer for this anywhere, my son is pretty fed up about it.

OK, so I fixed the issue. It's now working.
Drastic step though - had to reset the Quest with a factory restore.
Set it all up again and everything is OK.

Yes we had to do the same - factory reset - seems to have solved the problem...for now...

If it's just Gorilla Tag that's messing up, then it might just be something within that specific game. Factory reseting/ uninstalling, and reinstalling. Might help, but if, on the off chance, it doesn't... then you might just need to reach out to the developers and wait for the next update. "Rocket science," you know?

We had the same problem this morning. We uninstalled and reinstalled but that didn’t fix it. We checked our system time in our oculus 2 and it was incorrect with the national master clock. We adjusted to the exact time and tried again. That fixed the issue. No factory reset needed on the Oculus. I hope this helps someone else having this same problem.
