Black Screen

Lately my Oculus Quest 2 screen is turning black out of nowhere while playing a game, the audio of the game still working fine but the screen turns black and if the screen turns black and doesn't comes back to normal my VR turns off and I turn it on again but still on a black screen, I've already tried to Factory Reset and at first 20 minutes it was alright but the same problem appeared.

In order to understand the reason for your screen turning black, we must first go through a few questions:

 

  1. Is your headset becoming hot before or after the screen turns black?
  2. Does this happen in every game or specific games?
  3. Is this during standalone play or PCVR?
  4. Is there any signs of sun damage to your headset?
  5. Is there any sign of water damage to your headset?
  6. Have you dropped/bumped your headset at any point?
  7. Are you ensuring that the headset is sufficiently charged during play?
  8. Have you attempted to reset your view when this issue happens?
  9. Have you side-loaded any unsupported software onto your device prior to your black screen issue?

Your answers will help us narrow down the cause of your issue and allow us to provide the best advice possible!
