Black bars on right side of Quest 3 stand-alone when turning head

I don’t see them when I’m playing, but if I’m recording then they appear every time I turn my head left. Turning on stabilization makes them bigger. Turning it off makes them smaller but still slightly noticeable. I’m using 1920x1280 for landscape instead of square recordings. I’ve noticed this issue has been posted about for over 4 years. Is there a fix yet? Is the quest 3 still not powerful enough?

Am I allowed to bump this?

Hey @BitWizard6168! Thank you for reaching out to us. We definitely want to team up with you in figuring out why this is happening during your recordings. For us to get a better understanding of what's going on, can you answer the following questions:

  • Does this happen in square recordings?
  • What version is your headset running?
  • Are you on the PTC?

Also if you could send us a screen recording this would help us greatly. We eagerly await your response!

No, only landscape. It’s running v64 and this has been a problem since at least v44 according to old posts. I don’t know how to share a screen recording, it’s only allowing pictures.

And I had to google what PTC is so no I’m not

Since you confirmed recording in landscape mode, we'd like to learn whether these bars appear only in the recordings after the recording is taken, or in the headset view while actively recording?

They do not appear in the headset while actively recording. Only upon playback

Thank you for confirming there’s nothing that can be done. I hope that changes one day soon, it makes recording better videos much harder 😅
