I've been having issues for a few weeks when I have my second monitor plugged into my DP port to HDMI cable from my graphics card. I have my Oculus CV1 plugged into my HDMI port on my graphics card but about 3 weeks ago when I booted up my PC, my main monitor would show my MOBO splash screen and then a 50/50 chance it would then go black. I used to restart my PC to fix it but turning my monitors on and off would fix the issue but then either the next day or a few days later, it would happen again.
Now I have decided to keep my headset unplugged by the headset when not in use as that seems to have fixed the issue for now.
Why can't I have both monitors and the headset all on at the same time without this happening when I turn on my PC? Is it because I'm using a DP to HDMI cable to my second monitor that is causing issues with my headset when I turn my PC on? or is it because I use Oculus Tray Tool on startup for my PC before I log in?
This wasn't an issue before but now it is.

Hey again, @AliceLunaStar !
We understand that your monitors goes black while using PCVR. Let's go through the basic steps to tackle black screen problems. Give these steps a try and give us a heads up if you notice any differences:
1. Check if your graphics card is up to date.
2. Make sure your USB drivers are up to date.
3. Disable the USB power saver mode if it's enabled.
4. Unplug all devices except your mouse and keyboard, then test by plugging in only the headset.
5. If you have two monitors, try using just one monitor.
Please give us a heads up if you need any further assistance

1. Check if your graphics card is up to date.
It's already up to date.
2. Make sure your USB drivers are up to date.
It's already up to date.
3. Disable the USB power saver mode if it's enabled.
It is already done.
4. Unplug all devices except your mouse and keyboard, then test by plugging in only the headset.
I have many devices such as Elgato Stream Deck, wireless headphones, and a controller always plugged in and have had no issues.
5. If you have two monitors, try using just one monitor.
I have found out that unplugging the Oculus Rift CV1 via the headset doesn't cause my monitors any issues since I have done this, (except when I had my second monitor just in use it would go black on boot up)

Hi AliceLunaStart,
Thank you taking the time to reach out to us again regarding the problems you are having with your monitor.
First, we recommend to not use any type of extender or USB hub and to make sure that both your PC's monitor and headset's HDMI cable are plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard. We also recommend to plug in the USB cable into your computer before plugging in the HDMI and to check for any bends or kinks in the cable or bent pins on the HDMI insert! Also please check for any USB power saving settings turned on as these settings can effect the devices power:
Secondly, We recommend repairing your Oculus PC software to get a clean instillation of the program! Steps for repairing the Oculus PC software can be found below:
Hopefully this helps but if it does not solve the problem could you reach out via a private message so we can look further into this. Please select our name to get to our profile page, or click here.
