Black screen after 3 dots inside guardian

Hi everyone,

 

This is a very recent problem concerning my quest 2.

It starts up normally, but once the 3 dots are gone i'm engulved in black, only being able to see my guardian. Once i physically get out of it, it switches to passthrough.

 

I have updated the Quest software and installed it moments before this issue. I do not know what version unfortunately.

So an untested update occurs and the only solution is to reset the device and lose data / progress etc.

I'm struggling to believe that an company can seriously operate like this.

same issue here. cannot believe factory reset is the only way out... Oculus, there must be another way to fix your own update!

You don’t have to buy a new headset man. It’s just the stupid update. Do a factory reset on the headset, then after all the initial set up of everything again shut down and reboot one more time and everything will be great.

Did they get back to you with any info? Really don't want to do a reset.

 

Mines just done it today, glad I’m not the only one

Same issue, hope this gets fixed soon, too many people reporting this just to be random. Must be a bug within the last update

Same problem here, I'm submitting a support ticket now.

Let us know if they can offer any solution better than a factory reset.  Would be good to know for next time.

This started to me today too. Kept rebooting and now it’s just a black screen from start up. Quest 1. Really don’t want to factory reset, but is that my only option?
