Blank screen with Unity

I cannot seem to get any Unity demos running. All I get is a black/blue screen with the occasional flicker. Most other demos I've sorted (besides UE4 rollercoaster which gives me the dreaded 0xc00007b error).
Any ideas what to do? Is anyone else having this problem?
I've tried it on both direct and expanded. Same result.

I'm getting similar problems getting demos to run in either direct or extended modes.
Some of them work like Titans of Space, Tuscanny demo etc while other will just hang on a white screen with the 'not responding' error on the top of the window.
I have no idea what the issue is but it seems the more demos I download recently, the more that crash.

Windlands, Time Rifters & Sightline are the latest ones that crash or hang for me.

I would love to work with you to try and get Time Rifters working. Are you trying to run it on Windows or Mac? DK2 or DK1? If DK2 are you upgraded to firmware 2.12? Any errors in the log file (/TimeRifters_Data/output_log.txt)? Make a shortcut and -force-d3d9 "TimeRifters_DirectToRift.exe -force-d3d9".

This is running a DK2 on Windows 7.
Weird thing is that some demos do work in direct mode without any problems.
I'm sure it's a game compile issue perhaps using an older SDK.
Latest Firmware 2.12
I'm running SDK 0.4.2 and if these demos are compiled with earlier versions, they might not load on the newer one - I'm not sure but at this point in time, that's the process of elimination I'm using at the moment.
