Boot Issue of the Meta Quest Touch Plus Controller (Quest 3)

This morning, my Quest 3 right controller disappeared during a game. There were no obvious tracking issues before it vanished. I tried unplugging and replugging the battery, as well as swapping it with a new one, but neither worked. I noticed that when the battery is inserted, the controller's white light flashes briefly and then immediately shuts off, as if it's unable to draw power or boot up.

However, after leaving it alone for a while, the right controller started working again, showing 80% battery remaining.

  • The issue is only occurring with the right controller.
  • The controller's firmware version is 1.11.1. (Q3 v60.

Is this a known issue? Could it be a firmware error? Do I need to apply for a warranty service, or is there any test you would suggest I perform?

Today, I once again unexpectedly encountered the same issue. Replacing the battery, as I had attempted previously, was ineffective. This time, the problem seemed more severe, as there was no response from the white light on the controller. Based on a discussion with my friend about potential issues with the battery compartment mechanism, I tried manually pressing the negative terminal several times without any success.

Interestingly, I later discovered that applying pressure on the battery towards the negative terminal while it was inserted managed to successfully turn the controller on.
