Bought two devices for the family for multi player but can’t play without purchasing each game twice

We bought two Meta Quest 3 devices for the kids to play Beat Saber and other games in multiplayer. We are finding that it appears Meta allows you to share the apps across the two devices in the account but only one person can access the games at any one time even with a linked secondary profile. It appears there is no multiplayer or even ability for my two kids to play the same game independently at the same time even with the app sharing without purchasing each game twice!

This would be a deal breaker and no reason for anyone to purchase a second device if they can’t be used at the same time. I will be returning the second device if this cannot be fixed and I’m disappointed this is not clearly spelled out anywhere.

Please advise if I am missing something here… part of the fun of a video game system is playing against others. I understand two people in different households each need to pay for the game but to not have a multiplayer option on two devices in the same account, same household and same WiFi router is pretty terribly restrictive.

@kokomo305  I suggest you Google meta quest app sharing.  This will give you meta links that fully explains how app sharing works.  Not very many apps (eg Beat Saber) allow them to be used by multiple headsets at the same time.  If your kids really need to play these games at the same time you’ll need to buy an additional app.  Sorry to hear that you’re unhappy about this but a little googling would have explained all this imho.
