My quest 2 just got bricked for no reason, I wasn't doin anything with it but when i tried to use my headset

i have found out that it's not charging, it's just stuck on low battery screen with lightning icon blinking in it, and it simultaneously randomly starts to boot, and after one sec it dies, then it repeat.
I Have tried to boot into bootmenu but i never did. sometimes it's loading longer with fan blowing, but it's still dies

Tried

- other power source

- boot menu (never loaded)

- unpluging screen so battery can charge - same nothing

- checked usb c port if it's ok - ( doesn't look melted )

HI there,

I understand that you are unable to use your Quest 2 and that can be frustrating.

Since none of the troubleshooting worked, we would need details to check if you are eligible for out of warranty program.

Please let us know if you would like to proceed with that. If yes, we would move you to private chat and get into this further.

Hi there,

Thank you for getting in touch with Meta Store Support.

We understand that you are facing boot issues with your Quest 2 and that is not something you were looking forward to.

Could you please share the screen shot of the error you are facing?

Also, could you please confirm if you have spilled any liquid on the headset?

Please try the following:

  1. Attempt to charge the headset for 2 hours. The headset must be left powered off or in a sleep state during this time.
  2. Hard Reboot the headset
    1. Hold down the power button and volume down button for 30 seconds until you hear the boot-up sound
    2. If the boot-up sound is not heard, enter the USB Update Mode and select "Boot Device"

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello,

Thank you for attempting that troubleshooting. As you are still experiencing this issue, I am going to recommend we proceed with a Factory Reset of the device. What this will do is reset the device to a "like-new" state, wiping all information and data off the device.

Some of this data can be restored by enabling Cloud Backups beforehand; however, keep in mind that while Cloud Backup is available to all Meta Quest developers, it is up to developers to decide whether to enable this feature for their app and what data is backed up. You can find which installed apps have Cloud Backups enabled on the Cloud Backups page of your Meta account profile.

Once you have set up Cloud Backups, then proceed with the directions found in the Meta Store Help Center. If you need any further assistance, please reach back out and I would be happy to assist you with this process.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi there,

Thank you for your response. You have 3 options to factory reset your device.

  1. Through your Meta Horizon App
  2. On the web by visiting https://auth.meta.com/settings/my/devices/.
  3. Through your Quest.

We understand your boot menu is not working. Please visit the link by clicking here and it will provide you step by step details about how can you factory reset your quest.

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
