Brightness / Black colour level concern

Cl0udNine
Honored Guest
  • I have the quest 3 after experienced the quest 2, and realized that the vision is pretty hazy in regards of black colour level. Anytime immersed in a dark and shadowed environment, the image is unclear and on the bright end where the blacks colour seem more light grey.
  • I have compared it with someone elses quest 3 and saw that there is a clear noticeable difference in black levels. Seems like its my device thats just isnt 100%
  • Ofcourse i have already experimented with the contrast and brightness settings, but still fails in comparison with my friends quest 3.
  • What is the best action from here?(Bought the quest in oct 2023)

Thanks for the swift reply. Ive done the above but still with no success. What would be the next solution?

Thank you

Hey @Cl0udNine! The next steps would be to factory reset your headset. You can do so by following the steps below or clicking here

To perform a factory reset using your phone:

  1. Open the Meta Quest app on your phone.
  2. Tap Menu then tap Devices.
  3. Tap the headset connected to your phone.
  4. Tap Headset Settings then tap Advanced Settings.
  5. Tap Factory Reset and then Reset.

To perform a factory reset using the headset:

  1. Turn off your headset.
  2. Hold the power and volume (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

We hope this helps, if you have any questions and concerns feel free to reach back out!

Hello @Cl0udNine are your lens clean? Is your IPD set correctly?

If your headset has these 2 options correct and the problems persist, I'd recommend contacting meta directly, as this may be a hardware issue
