Bubbles screen when trying to add second account

My children have a single Oculus 2 headset. We set up the first account on the device and it worked just fine. We then went in and enabled sharing to add a second account. It lets us get as far as setting up the second account but will never display the 5 digit pairing code in the headset. After we added the second account the headset displays a screen with bubbles everywhere and three little dots at the bottom of the screen that eventually go away.. We have tried resetting the device over and over end over... we have tried powering the device off and back on.... we have tried logging in with an oculus account instead of a Facebook account (which doesn’t work because it’s paired with the Facebook account)... we are out of ideas and I have two VERY frustrated kids. Please help, what are we doing wrong?? Has anyone else faced this problem and figured out how to pair the second account/app with the headset? Thanks for any help/advice!

We have the same issue. Oculus support has no idea why it's happening. Trying to add a second user was fine. I hot my sons working and both of us could use it. Then we tried to ads my wife and she gets stuck in bubble land with no windows. So we factory reset and now my sons won't work either so we are stuck with only one account. If we can't get a resolution we are returning this Oculus Quest 2 in 3 days.

It's 1.40 AM here in the UK and I've just reached the end of an 8 hour marathon of headset glitch repair by finding your post (and I've had this baby for over a year with no issues and am fairly tech-competent so it's been a frustrating slog). You sorted the bubbles out and I am very grateful to you. VERY GRATEFUL BECAUSE THE BUBBLES WERE DRIVING ME MAD.
