How come all the rest of the streamers that are out there can't have high resolution (1080P+) playback like Netflix does on the Quest browser?
Netflix on browser gives a beautiful full high definition playback that looks great, even when blown up to the largest screen size in Theater mode...
All of the other streaming services I have access to (Max, Disney, Hulu and Peacock) do not play back at full high resolution(looks to be 720P or less), like Netflix does. Even dedicated and promoted apps like Peacock do not have as higher resolution playback.
The Quest 3 is a very capable media consumption platform that deserves to have all the available streamers looking as good as they possibly can. YouTube can support up to 8K (non HDR) playback (which looks amazing) so the underlying hardware seems capable of supporting it. The streamers all have 4K streams (with surround sound) available to other platforms so it seems like a straightforward thing that someone at Meta could do to make the Quest browser fully supported.
Also it would be great to have the Dolby Atmos / 5.1 surround sound mode (also, currently only on Netflix but briefly activated then deactivated on Disney+) rolled out to all those streamers as well.
It still baffles me why most (all I have tested) media playback apps on the Quest platform do not support proper 5.1 (or 7.1 or Atmos 9.1.4) playback by using virtual speaker positions to stick the Left/Center/Right channels to the screen position and then put the other surround/height channels around, above and behind you...
