CV1 Black screen with sound (FIX)

For the past week, my oculus headset would only display a black screen when I tried to use oculus games or apps. There was sound coming through the headset and I also would occasionally see a loading hourglass but the games wouldn't show on the headset. After hours of troubleshooting, I found that the problem was in my windows display settings. Somehow, windows had identified the two displays in the oculus headset and screwed everything up.
In my windows 10 display settings, I could see a representation of my computer monitor and 2 small displays. It's only now that I am assuming that these displays were from the oculus but at the time I didn't really have a clue. I'm not even sure if the two smaller displays were marked as active or inactive. All I know is that once I selected the option to remove those two smaller displays, the oculus home menu and all of my oculus games worked again! Everything is as good as new.
I see a lot of people on the forums with similar issues so I though it would be a good idea to let everyone know what I did. Hopefully it helps and you don't have to send your oculus back for a replacement. That would suck considering how long most of us had to wait for our orders to arrive.

I have the same exact problem, except only have my one display. In addition this happened right after an oculus firmware update. I was playing a game, updated the firmware, and boom blank screen with occasional hourglass.

Same problem here, I fixed it after reinstalling nvidia drivers, I have a gtx 1060.
