CV1 Jitter/Stutter/Judder Issue

Iguanaonastick

Hello,

I just got my CV1 yesterday and am having problems with judder.  Other than the initial calibration screen with the green lines, every program I run has the same problem, despite running at 90 FPS.  When my head is still I have a clear picture, but when I move the picture stutters.  I have tried all of the following:

*Closing all other programs
*Reinstalling Oculus app
*Reinstalling graphics drivers
*Moving the sensor
*Covering any potentially reflective surfaces
*Switching USB ports

Any other ideas?  Would love to get this thing working, seems like it'll be fun once I do!

Just making sure, as I have had judder issues in the past with the DK2 and Aero themes on Win 7 64 bit.  I was going to suggest trying a non-Aero theme if you happened to be on 7 (shot in the dark).

Did you make sure your HMD and tracking camera have the latest firmware?  There should be an option in the Oculus Home settings in the Settings>Devices menu for the device you want to update.  Other than that I would make sure you try every USB 3.0 slot on your mobo, as I had to use a certain one on my motherboard for the tracking camera or it would intermittently disconnect.  I don't think the HMD USB is as finicky.

Also try the Oculus compatibility check if you haven't already to be sure your USB 3.0 slots are supported, there is a link on the cart page here: https://shop.oculus.com/en-us/cart/

And don't worry about the Rift in the cart, Cyber let everyone know that this is basically a static sales page that automatically has one Rift selected.

@ThreeDeeVision Doesn't seem to be it.  Firmware is up to date, tried the USB 3 ports on my motherboard and PCI card.  Passed compatibility check, too.

Good luck at the local retailer. I hope it's your PC and now your Rift!

You said the calibration scene works fine ? are you talking about were the camera scans you with the laser while doing the setup in the grey room with the grid on the floor ?

Iguanaonastick

@Zandil No, I mean before that, with the horizontal and vertical green lines.  There's no head tracking involved there (I think).  The setup scene with the laser and grey room are stuttery.

Any errors showing in OC under devices ?

@Zandil Nope

It's a pain in the ass but I would recommend reinstalling Windows again.  I know you only done it a few months ago but doing it again will rule out any software conflicts.

@Creesball I took your advice, and now it's working fine.  Glad it's not a hardware issue.  Now to setup my PC again...
