Can not set up oculus quest to my phone

Does anyone have the same problem as me? My phone and Oculus quest2 have been unable to pair successfully. Tried many times, including re-downloading the APP and resetting oculus

Ich habe die Quest jetzt über adb das Update 42 eingespielt.. auch das hat nicht geholfen . es steht weiterhin das ich die Brille Updaten muss.. Es ist eindeutig ein fehler in der Oculus app.

wenn ich eine alte Oculus App installiere startet das App nicht...

There doesn't seem to be any "quickly" about it.  After emailing back and forth with customer support I was given a link to this forum. This forum just seems to be all of us complaining to each other with no answers from THEM. 

Essentially I feel like we've been shoved into a corner to be ignored.  This company clearly has no regard for its customers. 

Three days with my Meta Useless Brick 2 and no answers.

I found a way how to workaround the "Software Required" error message with Update v43 & Meta Accounts

I am so freakin' happy that this really worked - also so stupid. A user named Fluffy in the Virtual Reality Discord posted something about this and i just tried it out and it worked like a charm. Thanks Fluffy411 🚀

I did this on my Mac & Oculus Quest 2 so its the only system i tested on.

1. Download the Oculus Developer Hub

2. Register for an Account with your Facebook Developer Account (Complete Setup)

3. Connect your Oculus to the Mac

4. Pair New Device

5. Then you receive a prompt in the Oculus Developer Hub App for your wifi password

6. After that you are greeted with something like "In Headset Setup Required ..."

7. You then restart your Oculus Quest 2 via the power button and then restart via the onscreen prompt

8. Ironicly your Oculus will then download the latest firmware (so stupid but yay ...)

9. You can then proceed with your smartphone app like it should be.

10. Be happy

I am really grateful that i stumbled upon this discord server https://discord.gg/xnChCQpD and the user Fluffy who tried this before me.

Hope this will help all the folks who are stuck in this onboarding process. I also don't know why the official Oculus support doesn't know this.

Be aware: The onboarding for a Oculus Developer Account is quite long as you need a Facebook Developer account - gladly i had this.

Hi, I have the same problem for the last week. My mobile app shows actually shows connected to the headset but the headset just shows the 5 digit pairing screen. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the phone app (iOS) and factory resetting the headset but I get back to the same point. The device doesn't show up in oculus.com/my/devices/

Woher hast du den das update bekommen bzw geladen? Ich suche nun auch schon seit Tagen vergebens nach der aktuellen Firmware um diese via adb aufzuspielen. Man findet jedoch wirklich nur sperrlich überhaupt etwas über dieses Thema, finde ich.

Thanks @VR-Matters  but the error we get is not "Software Required".
