Can't Detect Sensor (Bad Tracking Unit)?

Just got my Rift in today and i hooked everything up and ran the setup.   It is finding the Headset USB and HDMI but it fails to find the Sensor USB.

I have tried 4 different USB 3.0 Ports (i had to unhook printer, UPS, Etc) and it still wont detect.

I have submitted a support ticket but thats gonna take a couple of days.. Its a shame we have no phone support during this initial launch period.. I have attached some photos of the cable, i think maybe i have a damaged unit.

Anyone else have problems getting the tracker to detect? if so, how did you fix it, or how did you get it resolved?

Here is a Album of pics i sent to support:

Update: it looks like it's detected by windows 10, but it says no driver installed.. "Install drivers automatically" does not seem to work.  anyone got a manual download link to the drivers for the tracker?

Dunno if it matters, but I installed Oculus Home and skipped the rift setup around 2 days ago, because i wanted to go ahead and download a lot of the  titles so i didn't have to wait for downloads to complete the day i got my rift.

I got it WORKING!!!!

I had to re-install Oculus Home..

Full Breakdown of what i did:
  1. Went crazy and yelled at forums and oculus support
  2. panic and realize it's gonna take days to get answers
  3. un-installed oculus Home
  4. Restarted PC
  5. Re-downloaded Oculus Home setup
  6. Reinstalled Oculus Home and ran setup
  7. Fixed.

Having a similar issue, but the Tracking Sensor/Camera was disconnecting, now on 3 separate machines it fails to be recognized. If there is a direct driver or diagnostic utility for the camera I'd like to know. If it's corrupted, maybe it needs a forced rewrite of it's firmware or something?

I tried what Jasonlmore did several times on two computers, did not fix my sensor. Failed on Two different computers. There are a couple oculus forum threads about it and a few on Reddit. A similarity I see, at least on one of my computers is many people have an Asus motherboard. But I am also having the problem on my Lenovo Thinkstation. Some of the Reddit threads recommends a PCIe USB 3 card to run it instead of the builtin USB 3 on the motherboard. I ordered one because the Oculus support appears totally stumped and dare I say, worthless at this point.

From what I can see and read is the Sensor (mine did work for 5 hours, now dead) you must have a specific USB3 chipset!!! Why was this not included in the box and have no idea. 2 weeks trying to figure it out. 1 week now with zero contact from Osuckulus. They wont be getting any service awards anytime soon!!

Just FYI, my sensor cable has the same bent groove 🙂 It's just how it was coiled ... glad you got it working.
