Can't buy games or apps on the webstore

I am trying to buy a game but I am not able to buy anymore.

There is an error message after the payment request is sent. This did not happen in the past. How can I fix it and buy games again? Lat

I have had a very similar issue with my credit card payments cancelling on the Meta app and website, but the payments still being charged to my credit card. 

Meta refuse to acknowledge that this is happening and have refused to refund me, even when I have shown them the charge on my credit card statement.

If you are getting a failed payment error like "something went wrong" when trying to buy a game, please don't keep on trying as a payment still might get through and Meta have no way of tracking the charge on your credit card, even when the charge has a reference number. 

In the end, Meta will tell you it's your bank's fault and refuse to give you your money back. If you do a chargeback, you will risk getting your whole account banned. 

Meta's payment system is a buggy mess.

No you are not "here to help" Meta support. My case was never resolved and never will be. After having to deal with multiple support people that asked the same questions over and over and could not even read the case notes, I have now given up. Support was an absolute nightmare to deal with.  I am replying here as a warning to anyone else that has errors when trying to buy games on credit card. 

Hey there, @KazukiVR. If you have not already, we recommend trying another payment method and seeing if your purchase experience improves.

You can use any of the following:

  • Credit Card/Debit Card
  • PayPal
  • Meta Quest Store gift card

While not typically the easiest option, a gift card would bypass the need to deal with any payment providers. And can be purchased in smaller increments of as low as $15 at a time. Refunds for games purchased with a gift card would be returned to your account directly. We hope this helps!

I am sorry this is not a solution! Meta should support to solve an issue, not to propose us alternative payment methods! 

If I buy a store gift card, its value is never equal to the price I have to pay for the games. This generated an unspented amount. I.e. Goes against the customer insterest.

If you want to have my money again, you should be able to solve the issue in such a way that I can pay your games with the credit card I already have. This is the only solution a decent customer service should offer. 

The rest shows no care about customers!

This response shows an utter disregard for a valid complaint. You don't even see this as valid feedback and that occasionally your credit card payment systems have issues? Please consider actually looking into an issue properly rather than choosing a template answer so you can move on to the next forum post.

I am still waiting for my case to be solved. All I had so far was a standard message inviting me to use another payment method instead of solving the issue. And then a message asking for a feedback. I provided zero overall as score. You deserved less so far but that was not possible.
