Can’t do anything due to socialplatform stopping

When ever I turn on my vr it says socialplatform keeps stopping then there’s to buttons and they say close app and app info and when ever I press any of the buttons or just do nothing it restarts the vr 

pls help

Hey @SuperVRshark! Running into issues with the headset starting up can really be discouraging, so we'd be glad to help out!

If not already, could you please attempt the following:

  1. Power off your headset.
  2. Hold the Power and Volume Down button together until the menu loads. 
  3. Use the Volume Buttons to highlight Boot Device and press the Power Button.

This would just be a different way to turn the headset off and back on. Let us know if this seems to help out. If not, we'll be happy to check out some other options we can test.

M headset is also have this problem. I tried doing the boot device option by holding down the volume down & power button and it came back on and did the same thing again. Please help

Hey @kingzeeka333! We hate to hear you're having this problem as well. Could you please try to Factory reset your device by using your mobile app or computer? We have provided steps below on how to do so:

From the Meta Quest mobile app:

  1. Open the Meta Quest app on your phone.
  2. Tap Devices in the bottom menu.
  3. Tap the headset connected to your phone.
  4. Tap Advanced Settings.
  5. Tap Factory Reset and then Reset.

From the Oculus account:

  1. Log into the Oculus account profile page.
  2. Go to My Devices.
  3. Select the Device and click Delete Device Data.
  4. Click Continue
  5. A code will be sent to your email; you will need to enter the code and click Submit.

Yes I still need help! I really didn’t want to do a factory reset or will I lose all of my game content by doing so?? I will try it I guess, there’s not another option?

Hey there, @kingzeeka333. A factory reset would be the next best step to take, so we'd recommend giving it a try. Your Cloud Backup settings should be enabled by default, saving data for any games that the developers have decided to support cloud saves. Let us know how it turns out. Hey I’m having the same problem and I tried to boot the headset and it didn’t work. I have the cloud backup turned on but when I factory reset how will I save my data and games?

Hey I’m having the same problem and I have tried booting the headset a couple of times and it didn’t work. I have cloud backup turned on but I’m still confused and worried about how I would get my progress and games back.
