Can't do anything on my child's account

Hopefully someone reading this can help, because I have been trading emails with Customer Service and spending hours on this piece of s**t device and still can't get this fixed.

We bought a Meta Quest 2 in December for our 11 year old. Initially, I was able to manage which apps his profile used, how long he could use it, etc. I added a PIN passcode to my profile to, in theory, prevent him from using inappropriate apps or using it more than the allotted time. (Sure, you can say that I'm a bad parent because I'm not sitting next to my son while he uses this, monitoring his every minute, but I work and cannot be with him 24 hours a day.)

Last week, every app on his profile stopped working. When he tried to launch one, it gave an error that Developer Mode needed to be activated. Customer service recommendations, and results, included:

- Granting all possible permissions to all apps - this had no effect

- Applying to get developer status, which I questioned since I don't want to be a developer

- Uninstalling and reinstalling apps, ensuring that their permissions are granted. After doing this, every app that was launched on my sons profile gives an error that I've left the boundary and need to re-establish a boundary, No matter what I do (choose stationary mode, draw new boundary, etc.) I get back to the same error that I've left the boundary. I can't run any app at all (though I'm not getting the Developer Mode error)

I'm spending hours on this and it is unbelievably frustrating. I wish my wife had never bought this thing for my son. Is anyone else experiencing either this frustration, or able to find a solution that doesn't make them want to through the device out the window?

Hi, @Dr.Who.MD! We are greatly saddened that your experience has been less than ideal. We want to do all we can to help you turn things around! For the boundary issue please try to make sure that the area is clear of any obstacles, and that the lighting is good, avoiding direct sunlight. If you can read a book in the play area, that's sufficient. For the issue with loading apps, please send us a private message so we can look further into the

account and see what else could be causing you not to be able to run any apps. We look forward to your reply. Please select our name to get to our profile page, or click here. I’m having the same issue! Both my boys headsets stopped allowing them to use any apps. This has been the most frustrating gift they have ever gotten. So disappointed. Did you figure out a fix?

Glad to hear I wasn't alone. I uninstalled all the apps and reinstalled them, giving all permissions. Then, in my son's profile, I went to the settings and in the area that included boundaries, there was a "clear boundaries" option. Doing those things allow my son to use the device, for now.  Now the headache is that he can go into my profile, download new apps and play them without a time limit. I have to check which apps he's downloaded and then lock those manually. You'd think they'd require a PIN code to download apps to prevent kids from downloading just anything, but they don't.

Hey there, @Dr.Who.MD! Your feedback is important to us, and we welcome you to share your ideas regarding the PIN code suggestion for child accounts in our ideas forum here.
