I have upgraded to V34 and wanted to try out the Android phone notifications on my Quest. You're supposed to initiate the feature by going to the mobile app, under "devices" and enable the "Phone Notifications" option there. My mobile app does not have "phone notifications" under "devices"... just:
wi-fi
controllers
developer mode
[etc]
... am I looking in the right place? I believe I'm on the most recent app version - there no update option in the play store. Any ideas? Maybe the feature isnt available yet for my Galaxy S21?

Thanks @Anonymous I checked the 'android' settings, on a pixel pro6 I have active, and made sure oculus app had access to notifications.

I wonder if really nobody in Android was able to turn on this option (sorry, can't trust Ryan).

I've got same issue on my Sony Xperia 1 II running Android 11.

Does it work for Galaxy S21 5?

Same issue - S20 FE 5G -. I thought as much that is was a bug but I'd imagine that it would be solved faster since it's kinda big.

No this does not work on the Galaxy s21 5g.

Oh well doesn't effect much

Don't let the "Solved" word fool you - the problem still persists, and extremely annoying. Nothing's solved at this point, and the potentially-confusing word imply that there is a factual solution.

Amazing... The Oculus App pushed a notification last night to find out its latest features and it was really selling the phone notifications for Android thing. Pfff.
I am fairly certain the feature isn't working for anyone at all, which makes Ryan's initial "It works for me!" comment dubious at best. It wouldn't be useless of him to show a screenshot of the option on his Android phone. Maybe that'll trigger some of us to look deeper and help the devs in this ridiculously slow progress of fixing the issue.
Kind of unprofessional of Oculus/Meta to release this big update without proper testing.
