Hey there,
I am trying to use the workrooms/remote desktop feature on the Quest. Unfortunately, for software compatibility reasons (music-making softwares, VSTs etc.), I can't upgrade my OS past Big Sur or else I am not able to use a number of music-creation products. So that's a non starter. The most recent version of the Meta Remote desktop installer is not letting me install on anything before MacOS 12 Monterey. But this product has existed since the Oculus days so there were installers that worked for Catalina and on. Where can I find those installers?
Thanks,

Hey there, @Arxyo! I see that you're having some trouble with getting Remote Desktop to install on your Mac running the Big Sur version of macOS. I've actually been in touch with the engineers regarding Remote Desktop when running macOS and would love to point you in the direction of the thread that I'm updating with new information regarding these issues. Here is a link to the thread: Meta Quest Remote Desktop stuck on "Loading" on macOS. If you could look at the "Accepted Solution" on that thread and get back with the requested information, it would be greatly appreciated! I'll be posting updates in that thread as soon as I receive word from the internal team. Thank you very much for your patience!

I'm having the same issue with Big Sur (V11).... on the page where you download the Remote Desktop app for macOS.... prefacing it, it says-
"To use your computer in VR in Workrooms, you'll need to first download and install Meta Quest Remote Desktop for macOS (Big Sur, Catalina and Monterey)"
They say that it can be used with Big Sur.... and when I launch the installer it says the Mac needs to be on v12 instead of the v11 Big Sur is.... Can we please get another/older installer as the original question goes?
I have a slightly older MacBook Pro Retina that stopped getting updates.... right now I'm using Immersed app, which is fine... but want to use Horizon Work Rooms and Remote Display

I'm having the same issue with Catalina. If older versions are no longer supported the least that they can do is update the documentation to reflect this.

Hardly seems relevant when the issue being discussed here is that the software doesn't even install due to OS version incompatibility.

The accepted solution suggestion on this post does not work.... the installer is not compatible with older Mac OS' .... can we please get some traction on this issue - if you are having compatibility problems, please post here so we can get some traction on a solution.

After looking into this issue further, It does appear that older version of macOS are no longer compatible with Horizon Workrooms. I'm not too sure exactly which versions are no longer compatible, however, one way we can get that information added to the article (Use your computer in VR in Meta Horizon Workrooms), is by scrolling to the bottom of the page to where it says "Did this article resolve your issue?". Click the button labeled "No", then click "Article needs more information". From there you'll be able to add that you'd like clarification on which software version of each accepted macOS version is supported. Thank you all for your understanding. I'll keep an eye out on the article to see if any updates are made and I'll let everyone know here!

Does anyone notice that Meta support has never resolved any of your issues, unless it's the most basic? They just keep asking questions since they have no solutions. For the past four years, that's what happens every time I do a chat with Meta. They have NEVER resolved any issues, and after they run out of questions to ask, they always disconnect the chat!
