I had to get a new controller for my son's Meta quest 3. I have found the guide on how to add a new controller however the option just isn't there in his app. His is a child account if thisakes a difference. It is not in my account because the headset is registered to him and my only device is the right controller which I bought from the meta store. How do I add the new controller? This is NOT the controller, it is clearly an app issue because the option isn't there.
How do I add a screenshot of the app to confirm? He has finish setup which we have done many times and it just shows finish setup again after it shows the completed setup screen. We've deleted the app and reinstalled. Meta are so poor at getting hold of I don't think this will help but I'm ready to return it as not fit for purpose because it's totally unusable now and I am sick of issue after issue with this piece of crap and I wish I hadn't bought one.

Hi, I haven't sorted anything, they have emailed a set of instructions that are totally different to what I see from the second or third step so I can't progress further. Why is it so difficult to do something as simple as pair a controller. Other consoles make it easy, Meta are just **bleep**e. This is the 3rd issue I've had since my son got this, I'm a technical person and I'm struggling with this, god knows what none technical people will be like. I wish I'd not bothered with the child and parent accounts, I should have just lied and said my son was over 13 because all these issues started when they rolled out that awful system they forced us to use

Your son got new different controllers for his headset right. Headset is used

He has a headset that worked fine, one controller broke (right one) so I bought a replacement. This wouldn't pair or even reset correctly so they replaced that and I can't add this new one because the settings aren't there in the app. The screenshot shows the settings, if we click finish setup it goes through the process, says it's completed then goes back to this screen. Deleted and reinstalled the app to no prevail

Here is a solution, factory reset the headset again, using the Headset factory reset, not the app. And when it's showing on the headset step by step on how to set it up, the first step is for controllers, pulling the taps from new controllers when you buy a new headset. This step is important I'm going to mention

Let the pulling the tap step stay on your headset screen for a while as I said in the V69 thread "Headgaze will kick in if your controllers get unpair after a factory reset. Don't know how long it takes to say controllers are not found." But the headset will tell you to pair the controllers directly from the hesdset.
