I had to get a new controller for my son's Meta quest 3. I have found the guide on how to add a new controller however the option just isn't there in his app. His is a child account if thisakes a difference. It is not in my account because the headset is registered to him and my only device is the right controller which I bought from the meta store. How do I add the new controller? This is NOT the controller, it is clearly an app issue because the option isn't there.
How do I add a screenshot of the app to confirm? He has finish setup which we have done many times and it just shows finish setup again after it shows the completed setup screen. We've deleted the app and reinstalled. Meta are so poor at getting hold of I don't think this will help but I'm ready to return it as not fit for purpose because it's totally unusable now and I am sick of issue after issue with this piece of crap and I wish I hadn't bought one.

Do I need to factory reset the controllers too? Also will he lose any games or anything like that?

The only thing he might lose is the saved games if they aren't backup. But games and apps will be there, they just needed to be re-download. You don't need to do anything with controllers. Just factory reset the headset. When your at the screen for controller pairing on the headset, you will need to wait maybe 3 or 5 mins for it to say controllers not found, and your will be using headgaze which is volume button to confirm when white pointer hover over the confirm blue button

I hope your understanding what I'm saying, it's hard that I can't show you step by step with pictures or an article from Meta

The volume buttons if your wearing it, it will be located under the headset on the right, you will be using the volume up button

I have never tried on different controllers. But I have unpair my controllers and factory reset my headset, I thought I couldn't paired my controllers back, and made a mistake. That when I got the idea of waiting for any other things popped up if it couldn't find my controllers. And that when I stumbled upon that this feature probably be helpful if the app won't let you set up different controllers unless you fully have the headset set up
