Hello
I recently came back to my Oculus. Used to enjoy it a lot and played Beat Saber on the Oculus version as a standalone version.
I decided to purchase the Steam version, as I like collecting achievements etc and displaying them on Steam.
I have always had a hard time with activating steam on the Oculus to start with and ended up only being to play steam games when I pugged my headset into the computer (remote link says connected, but never works).
I have purchased Beat saber on steam today (04/05/2025) and loaded it up. The oculus works fine as a standalone unit and i managed to play a couple of games already installed on the device itself as the controllers where connected and worked as they should.
moving onto the steam version of Beat Saber, when it loads, im stuck at the user agreement page. The controllers are on and fully charged as i have just used them to start the game up. In game though the pointers are on the floor and cant be picked up. I go to my PC and click the game a few times and the controllers wake up and im able to point them. I move away from my PC so i have room to play and they disconnect again and the pointers are back on the floor and again cant move them or pick them up.
Is there something im missing here? am I doing something wrong?

Hi @tajimamori.2022 🙂
Have you tried Steam link to avoid the Meta link app?
You can get in the Meta app store.... it's free.
Steam Link on Meta Quest | Quest VR games | Meta Store

Have you installed SteamVR?

When I open the pc link on the oculus it goes straight to meta link and in the library it wants me to go to go to steam vr which I do. Could this be the problem that I'm running both apps at the same time?

I have the steam vr download but it's through steam. And when I connect it auto opens meta link

Maybe there is some problem with the openxr that is used? Have you tried other games like Rec Room or the lab that is free on steam they have the same issue. I have a similar issue myself but for me this happens in Meta Link but games on steam works. I also want to play beatsaber but trough Meta link but have the same issue as you where the controllers does seem so be recognized

Several users are currently experiencing issues with the Meta link ap...... no connection, controllers stuck in the floor, etc.
That's why I said.....don't use the link option, try "Steam Link".
Install Steam Link on your Quest, open the Quest library, then open Steam link.
You are able to connect your Quest to your PC with it and open your Steam library.
It will not open the Meta Link app.

I had the same problem.
The steamBeatSaber controller doesn't seem to work with the Quest 1.
If you remove the batteries from the left controller, only the right one works.
I can only play One Saver.
I asked for support from both Steam and Meta, but the problem was not resolved.
I don't even know which side is at fault...it could be a policy issue.
The belt on my Quest 1 was getting pretty worn out, so I switched to a Quest 2.
There's no problem with the Quest 2.
