Can't purchase anything

I just bought a quest 3 for my daughters birthday yesterday. Once I added payment information, I was unable to purchase anything via the headset, Meta horizons app, or website. When I tried to add my paypal account, it says that it's connected. Then doesn't show up as a payment option. When I try to use my normal card I get the error "Request not completed. A problem occurred when trying to complete your request. This can be cause by entering incorrect information or trying to complete an unauthorized action" This happens via headset, app, or (multiple) browers. I've seen threads on this exact issue dating back 4 years. 4 YEARS?! Not to mention, hearing support has been ABISMAL in actually helping anyone. I'm seriously considering returing this headset and going with a different company. 

p.s. Now I am unable to remove my payment method from the account with the error "I don't have the authorization to do this" IT'S MY CARD, ON MY ACCOUNT?! How do I not have authorization.

I also encountered the same problem. I can't buy games since 2025/2/14. It was normal before.
I can't buy games with my credit card, Quest Cash, or gifts from friends. I've contacted customer service and they handled it twice, saying it was resolved, but I still can't buy it. I'm very frustrated.

Add the payment method via the meta horizon app or website with a different browser.

Dealing with same issue. All that is going on at this point is that I get a different rep everytime asking for the same information over and over. I keep getting asked to send a bank statement in to show ownership of my card and when I do no one sees it. It magically goes away then I get asked to send it again. It's very frustrating and I'm just about done at this point. 

P.S. I have used different cards and also made a new meta account and none of that works still.

I changed my email and logged out of all devices before logging back in.

I also added three credit cards.

I tried three different browsers—Edge, Chrome, and Firefox—as well as the Meta app and Meta Quest 3.

I cleared the cache and cookies on all three browsers before logging back into my account.

However, I still can't purchase games, send gifts, or receive gifts from friends.

Meta support assigned a new representative, who responded that they need to conduct further investigation.

I encountered the same problem as you. Some people said that changing the email would solve it, but even after changing my email, I still can't make purchases. I have no idea what the issue is. I contacted customer support, and they've already changed representatives twice, but the problem still hasn't been resolved.

I haven't tried creating a new account to test it yet because, as of February 15, 2025, I’ve purchased 228 games. Having to spend money to buy them again would be terrifying. This shopping experience is terrible—it's truly frustrating.
