Hi. I manually transferred a TV episode to the Movies folder of the Quest 2. I watched it, then deleted it using the headset interface to remove it. I guess in the meantime the episode got cloud synced to the Oculus app, and now it still shows up in the Synced Media section, with no obvious way to delete it. How do I remove it from the Synced Media section of the Oculus App?!?

Make sure syncing is on and the image/video to be deleted is synced (you can turn off syncing for individual item).
Delete the image/video in your headset. It will delete from the gallery on the phone app.
If you turn off syncing before you delete the item it will stay in the cloud and show in you phone app gallery forever and Meta support will/cannot delete it for you. I tried a factory reset and uninstalling the phone app and even waiting 30 days to see if the items would auto-delete from the cloud. No such luck.
Fortunately I had copied the files in question to my PC and by reloading them to my headset and turning on sync I was finally able to delete them from the cloud by deleting the restored files from my headset.
Again, do not delete files from you headset with sync turned off.

OK. Quick update.
When i had this issue last Dec, tech support asked me to wait 90 days to allow the cloud to automatically reset my account and remove these orphan files. It's been over 90 days and i no longer see those files in my mobile app gallery!! ✌️.
For those frustrated with this issue...
Good luck!

Well, I'm dumb. I didn't remember seeing the message when I first enabled cloud sync that synced media would be automatically deleted after 14 days. Problem solved!

I believe this is a bug. All synced media remains on my Oculus app with no way to delete it.
Can someone from the support team suggest a way to manually delete the media.

Hey there. This does sound strange and we want to help figure out this potential bug with you. As WhiskyAndBacon suggested, if you have cloud sync enabled, it will take 14 days for that media to be automatically deleted. In the case that it has been over 14 days and the media is still on the device, please submit a ticket and a member of our team will get back to you as quickly as possible. We look forward to hearing from you.

Hi,
But what about those of us who don't want to wait 14 days for the data to hopefully deleted? Surely there has to be some way to clear immediately ?

Hey, ScubaDooba!
We at Oculus take your privacy and security very seriously! You would have to wait the 14 days for your data to be deleted. If it has been over 14 days and the media is still on the device, please submit a ticket, and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
We Look forward to seeing you in VR!

Meta is smarter than us and knows we would never want to delete content before the 14 day expiry, that or they need 14 days to copy our data to another server for their personal viewing later.

Discovered a fix/workaround for this..
Put the original file back into the same folder on the headset, when you open the Files app the file will not appear.
Restart headset and the file will appear and show synced.
Unsync file and verify on phone, then delete on headset.

Would there, in the future, be a way to immediately remove photos instead of having to wait a certain amount of days?

I have deleted media from my headset but it already synced to the app and I can’t remove it, would the 14 days count for the media to be deleted from the app or is there a diffrent way
