Can't remove synced media from Oculus app. Already deleted from headset.

Hi.  I manually transferred a TV episode to the Movies folder of the Quest 2.  I watched it, then deleted it using the headset interface to remove it.  I guess in the meantime the episode got cloud synced to the Oculus app, and now it still shows up in the Synced Media section, with no obvious way to delete it.  How do I remove it from the Synced Media section of the Oculus App?!?

I bet you the problem is not solved LOL

There is no way to delete it I've been trying for the longest time but look at the positive side this is free cloud storage that can never be deleted so place all your songs all your movies all your data you never want to lose on their server just never post any personal information there

Maybe not the most intuitive implementation.. not even sure how long it’s been “fixed” but click on the image/video in the gallery. Go to the top panel where “share” is. Click on the cloud with a dash through it to “unsync”.

In EU it's GDPR law brake. So i have alerted the relevant services that meta's violation of privacy rights. See you in court i hope eu will get you again.

I have tried to reload the same file back onto the quest, but when I synced it to the app it showed duplicates. Is there any way to load the same file that I deleted back onto the quest then unsync it and it will be removed from the app

Please fix this gallery issue. The images are deleted from headset but with cloud sync on won't delete the images already delete. I suggest effort be put on this. Seems illeagal not to have an easy method

OK. Quick update.

When i had this issue last Dec, tech support asked me to wait 90 days to allow the cloud to automatically reset my account and remove these orphan files. It's been over 90 days and i no longer see those files in my mobile app gallery!! ✌️.

For those frustrated with this issue...

  • Looks like waiting 90 days (not 14 days, not 30 days, not 60 days) for the cloud to reset and remove those files is the only option. If you want the option to delete from within the app, post 1 star reviews on App Store and Play Store to highlight this. If a lot of people post reviews, it might get their attention.
  • If you copy files to your headset, unsync them first from within the headset and delete them from within the headset. Don't delete them from Windows explorer like i did
  • You can turn off cloud syncing permanently from within your headset. However, if there are new software updates for the headset, this option might accidentally turn on, so check this option everytime you see an update.

Good luck!

It doesn't work even after 90 days I've been over 90 days and they still haven't deleted them off the app as far as I'm concerned they are Chinese spies hoarding our data spying on America just like tick tock LOL

I have been over 90 days and they still have not removed them. I have tried multiple things to get them to uninstall them they refuse. as far as I'm concerned they are Chinese spies spying on America, clicking information on all of us just like Tik Tok and the Spy balloons LOL that's why they have their own browser and they don't use Chrome or Google

What they are doing is against European AVG.

Crazy!!!
