So at Meta is stopping Quest-1 updates I decided to fully update it and keep it for historic reasons as I use my Quest-2 and Quest-3. However when I charged it and turned it on today...
1 There were no apps anymore
2. It initially showed me pairing code(?)
I didn't stay there much to trouble shoot that part. I just
1. firmware updated it and
2. opened up the Android Meta app and started a factory reset to it.
That's where things went bad. Factory reset demands setup via app. I passed the first stages and when I go to the last:
I got this and now I am stuck.
If I put on my headset all I see is
Update 1 of 2 complete. Continue in the Meta Quest app
(I do not see 2 completing as it's been like this more than hour)
It seems I will NEVER be able to go into my Quest-1? What the heck Meta? You CANNOT sell products that have time limit to it! Yes I understand stop updating a product but will this happen to my Quest-2 and 3? I am really sad about how Meta handles this.
P.S I found some people online saying that I need to enable location permisions for this to work but I already had it enabled in the Meta app as well as ALL the permissions bound to that app.
P.S-2 some other fella suggested that we need older version of the Meta app but I got to figure out how to find and install one.
Meta: Please offer postpone not updating Quest-1 as many people should be facing what I am right now. Fix the Meta Android app or offer a fix we can apply to this whole situation.
