Can't upgrade firmware

When trying to upgrade the firmware to 2.11 as required I get the following error:
"Invalid firmware! The firmware is for a different product"

Setup: Windows 7, via iMac Bootcamp

But I can get the Demo Scene and Tuscany demo to run properly.

Are you attempting to update firmware on a DK1? The firmware update is only for DK2.

No, as shown it's with the DK2 (firmware 2.10) correctly identified and connected by the Oculus Config tool.

Same problem here, Config Util shows DK2, Firmware 2.10, when trying to update the firmware it throws a "Invalid firmware! The firmware is for a different product" error.

Testscene runs including positional tracking, but has heavy jitter when looking around.

Any hints how to solve this?

Was able to solve this by installing the runtime on another computer and updating the firmware there. Wouldn't call that working as intended though.

The problem for me was that I still had the DK1 cable plugged into my computer without realizing it. Once I unplugged it, I was able to update my firmware on the DK2.

Try this:

#1- Close config tool if already running
#2- Delete file called ProfileDB.json from this location: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Oculus
#3- Open Oculus config tool again and you can now create a new profile.
(A new ProfileDB.json will be automatically created)

You now have full access to user configuration settings including the positional tracking demo.

If this still doesn't work you can also try moving the other files in the Oculus directory to a temp folder one at a time and see if that fixes the problem.

Thanks! Same problem here. I thought I unplugged everything DK1, but I didn't.
