Can't use any USB devices with Quest 3

TheMightyDonger

When connecting any device to my Quest 3 via the type-c port (eg mouse, keyboard, ethernet adapter, link cable), none of them get detected by the headset. In the case of the link cable I'm still able to slowly charge the headset, but it doesn't pop-up with any notification to enable USB access or anything like that. The last time I used a USB keyboard with my Quest it was only a few days ago, and I was using my link cable for PCVR just yesterday fine.

Things I've tried:

-Restarting the Quest 3
-Enabling developer mode
-Tried different mice, keyboards, usb-c to usb-a dongles, a usb to ethernet adapter, a link cable, all with no success.
-Plugged in a usb hard drive (I can see the headset powers the drive, but the storage isn't detected inside the headset)
-Cleaned the usb-c port with a toothbrush
-Did a factory reset of the Quest 3
-Updated to v71

Thanks, that might be the way to go, I've got no microscope unfortunately, but behold 17 photos of varying quality taken with my smartphone:top side of the port 9top side of the port 9bottom side of the port 1bottom side of the port 1top side of the port 1top side of the port 1bottom side of the port 4bottom side of the port 4bottom side of the port 3bottom side of the port 3bottom side of the port 5bottom side of the port 5bottom side of the port 2bottom side of the port 2top side of the port 2top side of the port 2bottom side of the port 6bottom side of the port 6top side of the port 5top side of the port 5top side of the port 4top side of the port 4top side of the port 3top side of the port 3top side of the port 6top side of the port 6bottom side of the port 7bottom side of the port 7top side of the port 7top side of the port 7top side of the port 8top side of the port 8bottom side of the port 8bottom side of the port 8

@TheMightyDonger   hmmm, it looks like there's been a heating event where some of the connector plastic has bubbled and deformed. a poor connection on the power lines with high resistance can cause heating and eventually melt the whole connector. smoke and flames would be the next step.

This is a know issue with the headset connector and @MetaQuestSupport  should be all over this as it's a matter of health and safety. Do not connect the headset to a power supply.

@TheMightyDonger  the @MetaQuestSupport  fire service should be with you shortly.  Okay, so not that shortly.
