Hey everyone. I spoke again with the engineering team about this feature. The best option that they recommend is to make posts on the Ideas Page of the forums about this feature. If enough people make posts about this feature, it could get enough developers to look at this idea, which can have the possibility of being implemented for future updates. Other posts from the Ideas Page have later been used for past updates, so this could do the same.

zeroed out the volume of Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-dash\dash\assets\raw\audio_dash\Assets\GNux_Background_Loop_v2_ambix_1.wav , can no longer hear it when playing the file with media player in windows but oculus seem to get that **bleep** sound from somewhere else to force me to endure it.

As mentioned in the reddit thread, this appears to be a bug where the ambient sounds from the "Space Setup" tool (where you trace your room boundaries etc.) don't stop. Rebooting my headset (Quest 3) resolved the issue.

ok, for me, on Quest 3, simple reboot solved the stuck background noize sound i had.
more info about the issue for devs: after rebooting i was prompted to setup the boundary (which is ok, i think) and during this process i had the same sound again and it dissapeared after setup was finished (as it supposed to be). so i think this problem was caused by not disposed sound player after one of the boundry setup finishes. please check all the boundry setup scenarius to make sure you dispose the playing sound before letting user leave the setup process.

try to reboot the headset next time if you get it again. it looks like it's a bug of boundry setup flow.

You're talking about something completely different. If your read the thread from the beginning you see that it is the background music that always plays at the PC VR menu when you're connected to PC. Not the stuck guardian sound bug.

this is not fixed; ambient chimesnshould be manageble via the quest itself and not a seperate connected device. please fix this

Hey there, @Ripkonius. At this time, there is no way to disable the background audio on VR. Even though this is how it was designed, we know freedom of settings of all kinds can be important, and recommend you make a post about it on our Ideas section of the forums: https://communityforums.atmeta.com/t5/Ideas/ct-p/Ideas

I found a solution that worked with my setup: Meta Quest Pro connected via PCVR link cable.
Adjust the "Dash" volume slider in your windows sound mixer
Finally, I am rid of that god-forsaken ambient loop. Sweet relief!
