Can you remove the Rift Lenses / Moisture problem ?

Today I noticed what looked like Moisture either inside both lenses or it may be at the back but it looks like it's actually inside the actual lenses .. I was just checking it over and removing a bit of dust . I could clearly see both lenses were affected as their was plenty of sun light in my room to get a good look . It looks like steam / condensation I was quite surprised. The room they are kept in is very dry . So I'm wondering if this Moisture is at the back of the lenses can I remove them to carefully wipe it of . If it's inside the lenses what should I do . Thank in advance

Contact support and RMA it.
If the seal has failed it's a manufacturing defect and your entitled to a replacement

There are many others like it, but this is mine.

I believe it can take quite some time for the Silica Gel to do its stuff.  Obviously, try to keep the bag you have the rift in somwhere where the temperature is relatively stable.

Will be interested to see the result.  I hope its a favourable one for you.  I have to admit, I didnt even consider the length of the warrantee on my Rift.  I dont think our UK consumer law applies.

I realise this is an old thread but my Rift has the condensation problem and I got it in July 2017.
What was the outcome Jonsku?

Thanks

As far as consumer law goes in the UK it should be fit for purpose for a reasonable amount of time. Yes there isn't a definitive amount of time attached to that but it would be reasonable to expect it to last at least 3 years.

The main issue is if out of manufacturers warranty it is on you to prove its a manufacturing defect and not wear and tear which would involve getting a report from a person with the correct credentials to diagnose such a thing.

I have bought a 16" fan that is on an adjustable stand. I place it behind my seat, on it's lowest settings - which is still blasting - when using VR and it does a great job. Not perfect, but good, and especially as the weather has been so humid here for a couple of months, making condensation worse.

This might have been mentioned before but to avoid moisture buildup and foggy lenses just run the oculus app for 15-30 minutes before putting the headset on. This will generate heat and rmove moisture. It worked for me to fix foggy lenses.
