Cannot connect my quest 2 to pc

Babyellow
Honored Guest

I’m not sure why but my quest 2 hardly ever connects with the cable to my pc. I have tried three different cables one usb2 cable and two usb3 cables. 70% of the time the meta quest app on my pc will say that the headset is connected however when I put on the headset I’m just met with a connecting message with the headset searching for a pc. I am using the headset for VR development in unity.

  • What error messages, if any, do you see?
    • What is the exact error message that you see.
    • If there are no errors, what is the exact behavior you have experienced?

  • Has the device ever worked before?

  • When did you first notice this behavior?

  • What else changed when you first noticed the behavior?
    • Did any of the devices (phone, headset, PC) receive any updates?

  • What have you already tried?
    • If applicable and available, have they tried on another device?
  • Is the your PC compatible?
  • Does the headset work when not connected to a PC?
    • Test basic functionality (navigate menus, launch and use an app)

  • Are you connecting your USB cable to a USB 3 port?

  • What type of cable are you using using? Try another compatible cable, use the official Meta Link cable if possible.

  • Is an adapter or cable extender being used? If possible, remove any adapters from the headset. If your PC does not have enough of the ports needed (HDMI for Rift, Display Port for Rift S) and the use of an adapter is needed, it is recommended to use the adapter with the monitor instead of the headset whenever possible.

  • How many other USB devices do you have connected to their PC?
    • Test with the bare minimum of USB devices connected to PC (just keyboard and mouse).
    • Try the cable with other USB 3 ports.

Please get back to us so we can further investigate this issue for you.

We look forward to hearing back from you!
